Day 22 - Normanton to Gregory

(Kate)

Day 22 - Normanton to Gregory. The auxiliary battery (which runs the fridge and freezer) has snuffed it, and luckily the local mechanic was open on Sat morning and had a matching battery to replace it. Team Greeneklee then set up on the side of the road and performed surgery to change the battery. Ben lay under the car and actually performed the surgery while the rest of us sat on a tarp on the road, surrounded by tools, and passed Ben what he needed. It was actually a great family bonding experience. No sarcasm here, it actually was.

Normanton was dusty and windy. The red dust stuck to the sunscreen on my face and made it look like I was wearing stage makeup 😉

We aimed to get to Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) tonight but made it to Gregory, about 90km short, and stayed at the "low impact camp sites" next to the river. It was beautiful. Gregory wins the prize so far for having the most tent-peg friendly ground - no rocks= no bent tent pegs.
